Van Cleef and Arpels: The Art and Science of Gems

April 23, 2016- Co-curated with ArtScience Museum Singapore, Van Cleef & Arpels and the French National Museum of Natural History Collection is showcasing 400 jewelry, 250 gems and minerals. Private collection including Ocèan Tiara (2011) Her Serene Highness Charlene of Monaco, Principalty of Monaco, and jewelry of famous celebrities, e.g. Elizabeth Taylor are also presented at the exhibition.

It is also an educational exhibition which encourages visitors to participate in the basis of jewelry making. e.g. sorting of patterns and design layout on hive-shaped plastic prints. Material science and geology are the basis of this exhibition. Nine short video clips are shown in the theatre room, and each clip is between 3 ~ 5 minutes. This is a rare opportunity to learn about jewelery-making; from blueprints to prototypes, sorting of diamonds and gems, and to the finalized work of art. Be inspired to become the next jewelery maker.

Exhibition ends on August 14, 2016.
